Been looking for about a year Don. It’s a bitch out there. I go on LinkedIn and about 90% of the jobs fitting my experience and pay (tech sales) have 100+ applicants. When I had my LinkedIn Premium ($45 mo) I could see the actual number. I have seen the job app numbers in the thousands. I usually don’t apply unless it’s below 100.
Fortunately, I don’t have any immediate family. I have also been fortunate enough to put aside money when I was making it. I can always sell my house and other investments if necessary. Hoping like hell to avoid doing that though.
I can tell you this; I have no confidence the situation is improving. That being said, have you seen how great the stock market is doing Don? 🤭

Luckily I landed a full-time job as an unarmed security officer. Not sure what hoops a person would have to jump through now to even get those jobs.

I can count myself blessed. Didn't have any experience before I got hired. Worked almost 2 years without health insurance too. Which is good to have if you need it. However, the money I spend on products that actually promote good health and healing costs far less than what I pay for health insurance, excluding deductibles and co-payments. Staying away from the rat poisons have done wonders for my health.
You're smart-- transition to medical sales! Reps always needed, and the surgical arena pays the highest ( orthopedics, pacemakers general surgery,etc.)
I have toyed with it. I have a friend in it as well. Have put out more than a couple applications for not so much devices but software and circuitry. I live in Florida and if there’s one industry insulated it’s medical.
What I am seeing is due to the sheer volume of applicants employers have gotten lazy. Instead of interviewing people they have their underlings in HR deal with it. Those people are very black/white thinkers and they are checking boxes more than anything else.
Here’s the thing, you don’t get very many interviews. It’s hard to gauge how you did and the company won’t tell you. That being said I may have figured out how best to handle these HR recruiter types.
I have a good friend who is high up at a networking company. He could get me a job but his department hasn’t opened up a new one directly under him in at least a year. It’s a bad combination of not enough jobs and too many interested parties.

You're right! I am 80 years old and it is much more difficult to get interviews than it was when I was a young college grad-- too much HR involved in hiring.
Your age shouldn't be a problem for any employer if they are not contributing to your health insurance. One guy told me he preferred hiring older people because lots of the younger people were unreliable in reporting to work as expected. Have you considered a walmart greeter position? Most of the people I see doing those jobs appear to be well past 35 years old.

Shortly after the election article after article surfaced on LinkedIn about us being in a white collar recession. I see the letters on Glassdoor. I’m not the only one put it that way.
I would like to thing I’m pretty clever too. I am probably doing better than most. In fact I have 2 different ones to deal with this weekend. I have to make a 3min video for one and do a video interview for another. I don’t mind because they actually have requested it. I won’t do any more of them on the whim of an auto reply. That is very frustrating to never hear from the fuckers again or have your work disappear into the void.
I know one retired husband and wife who are both looking for part-time jobs. I and many others have decided to keep our full-time jobs (if we can), and draw that social security income after reaching full retirement age. I'm hoping the laws don't change before I reach that number. Currently there is no income limit penalty on how much income those full-time retirement aged people can earn yearly. From the looks of things along with the cost of living expenses. This seems to be the best route for me to take. Get some debts payed off first, necessary repairs, item replacements, etc before I think about sitting around waiting for a monthly check that's close to $1,500 less than my monthly net income.
Can't afford to stop working. I'd be drawing my social security now while working full-time if I was FRA. I could pay off most of my debts in under one year, along with my job income, if my SS income was only $20K annually.
I don't know how much influence I have, Frank. Even if I could convince all the actively employed among my readers, how many people would that be? Most of my articles average around 15,000 reads. Many of us tried a long time ago, to mass email everyone about not buying gas on a particular day. This involved zero risk to anyone, but would have represented a strong symbolic gesture of discontent. We couldn't even get people to do that. I wish I could be more hopeful, but it's really hard to get people to come together. Thanks.
So what if you and even 1 million others had refused to buy gas on a particular day? Anyone could predict that, given your own planning for the day, many of you would probably just buy your gas a day or two earlier or a day later than you would have without your boycott. Maybe you'd also combine two days' errands on a single day to save some gas.
Net adverse impact of your symbolic gesture upon the targets: Virtually zero. Net effect on yourself: Contempt, ridicule, and maybe 1 gallon of gas saved.
A better strategy would be subverison of faith in America if not for a complicating personnel problem. You can't exactly depend upon most "white" guys to stand up for something like this when they're busy with important activities like watching sports, playing video games, golfing, tinkering in their garage shops, reading Bibles, striving for riches, gawking at photos of new warbirds, drinking, smoking, shooting holes in paper targets, and singing along with the words "the land of the free and the home of the brave".

By any number of types of “medications.” Responses and response times have made quite a few useless - and I’m talking people significantly younger than I. They aren’t stupid, just seemingly useless. Even with age “on me,” a leg that acts up now and then, fatigue issues - except for male stamina and brawn of these men, which females just don’t have - it seems I’m able to relatively accomplish more with less, so to speak. Many are like “potted” plants. Ever tried to talk to some of these? It’s very interesting. Can’t discount under “medications,” electromagnetic, and other such type influences, food quality, water quality. Humanity, as well as being culled, is being told to dance with their shoelaces tied during the culling. This job market, racial issue is likely, and disgustingly, part of it. I had the thought that as my own life is winding down, the strangest thing is happening. It seems the whole show might be, too. I never finished reading it, but there is a book entitled, “Things Fall Apart.” I do know that nothing lasts.
I get the impression many job posts are disingenuous. My brother works in recruiting, and says that job openings get 100s of applications from Indians within an hour. These people are not even citizens, and they commit fraud by claiming to be Americans.
I’m on a waitlist for a union trade job now. College degree, working vehicle, and over a decade of experience, albeit in another industry. I got a decent ranking and am still hopeful I’ll get a call next year, but it has been quite the wait.

Three years ago, my mother and I invested in troy ounce silver blanks - not more expensive actual USG American Eagle coins which are official currency. The blanks are worth whatever going rate of an oz of silver is. Anyhow bought in at $22 per troy ounce now listed around $58! It makes no sense to work for $60k or less in 90% of America, and in the places that that amount would afford a nice life, the pay is half of that.

I feel for you, Donald trying to get help for a government mistake. Nothing works in Oregon government anymore, so I have high anxiety and a feeling of futility when I am forced to interact with the government, something I try very hard to avoid. I KNOW there will be a mistake, and it will mean a days-long marathon on the phone, trying to.resolve the mistake, often having the call drop and being forced to start over. It sure feels like one hundred percent of those I speak with are women (it's almost always women) who can barely speak English. I don't know if all the mistakes are due to the forced-death-jabbed government worker's brains being destroyed by spike proteins...or that their poor grasp of English means they have no idea what's going on at work.
Because you are a family man, and were very responsible, you were able to start out as labor and work your way up to a desk job... something impossible these days...no matter how responsable one is. Many of us laborers bounced from job to job ...often being forced out by illegal labor. It happened to me once, and I filed EEOC and was treated so nasty by my caseworker (who obviously hated me immediately for being a White person filing against Hispanic management) that we actually got in yelling matches in the phone. EEOC treated me like dirt, but I kept threatening to file complaints against them, and it worked. I did win... got practically nothing, but that was all I wanted... vindication. I did file a complaint about my caseworker after the fact...which of course was dismissed...with a lecture that I should just be happy I prevailed. It was a terrible experience.
I really do feel empathy for young workers these days. This is the planned implosion of America 2.0.

I remember back in the eighties (my twenties) kids would get Pell grants to go to trade schools. I don't know if that's still a thing. The only people I knew who went to college were my sisters, it just wasn't a thing back then...at least in my circle. One kid from my highschool class became fabulously wealthy. He started a logging company with his brother. His enterprise now includes rock quarries, lumber, trucking, marine shipping, and he now owns a rail/water port.He sells a lot of lumber to Home Depot. Unfortunately, his brother died young in a logging accident. This would be impossible to accomplish these days...and I suspect that had the brothers not had contacts in the logging world back in 1978, they never could have gotten their business off the ground. Who you know, is much more important than what you know.

The labor unions were a blessing to some and a curse to others. The problem I always had with unions is they see management as the enemy who wants to exploit the worker for every last nickel, and cannot imagine an employer, such as Henry Ford, who would actually give a man an honest day's pay for an honest day's work.
Americans have always been overpaid, if you want my opinion, and this is what has given rise to all the baneful infrastructure and socialism that constricts those of us who would rather be homesteading and living off the land. I am constantly lectured about having to "pay my debt to society". What debt? Society has not given me anything, except maybe free public libraries.

My problem with unions is that they want non-union people to pay them their extra income and benefits FOR LIFE. My neighbors are mostly union, whether construction, teachers, or city, state and county union members. Not everyone can be in a freaking union. That would be communism. So, the unions demand their higher wages, pension and benefits FOR LIFE, while their neighbors have zero representation. It's "you pay" or suffer the consequences. The unions don't guarantee better quality. Our non-union parochial teachers provide twice the education at half the cost of the public school union establishment. They don't over-burden the tax system with ridiculous 100 million dollar schools. I'd rather die in poverty than support the unions.
You raise some very valid points. Yes, the Parochial School teachers provide a better education because they want to be there. They see it as their vocation to instruct the next generation so they can build families and their own vocations. And all the money in the world cannot buy a dedicated heart.
The basic falsehood of Socialism is that people are solely motivated by money and political power. Socialism provides no proviso for the Christian Heart, which wants to do the right thing out of love for Our Lord Jesus Christ and his neighbor. One of the reasons what is left of Christendom languishes in a quagmire is because so few hearts are generous. Rather the vast majority of people are absorbed in their own little worlds and desires. They know nothing of sacrifice, mortification, and the striving after what is really important- Eternal Life and the Will of God.
The Public School system in particular is an infernal beast. Years ago the school districts were hijacked by the Communists and their fellow travelers. And with the famous case of Madalyn Murray O'Hair, Atheism and Secular humanism became the religion of the Public Schools. This caused the people of integrity to flee to be replaced by greedy union creatures who successfully convinced a dumb public that throwing lots of money at the schools would improve standards of education. Nothing but a pack of lies.
All that being said, teachers' unions and unions of public employees in general are not a good comparison to the grassroots unions that were inspired by the "Molly Maguires" who rose especially in response to the horrendous policies of the Anthracite mines in Pennsylvania. (The Robber Barons were certainly a reality.) For the Blue Collar Factory Worker in the late 1800's the Unions were indeed a Godsend, and balanced corporate greed. (I often wonder if the Great Johnstown Flood of 1889 was not Divine Retribution on the Robber Barons. It certainly wiped out Carnegie, the Railroads, and sparked the Great Panic of 1893 as the banks only succeeded in hiding the losses for so long.)
I would agree, of course, that after WW2 the unions became bloated conglomerates dedicated to squeezing every last nickel out of what they saw were the deep pockets of various cartels. This contributed not a little- along with bloated gov't regulations and taxes- to the exodus oversees that began in earnest in the early '80's.
It's always the same old story- as old as the hills. People with very limited horizons are intent only on their local kingdom while the institutions designed to look far and wide become infected with corrupt bureaucrats.

Yes, you are correct to point out the reasons for the worker unions in respect to
the oligarchs. Minnesota, where I live, has become the poster child for these organizations, with the Tim Walz mentality controlling the state for a long while and we're just now seeing the fruits of this. The unions and powerful actors, like the Mayo Clinic, enforce mind-control over the masses similar to demonic possession. One example is the "push" to vaxxinate and fluoridate us. In a recent documentary on Minnesota in the 70s, they proudly showed large numbers of Minnesotans protesting the taconite pollution being dumped into Lake Superior. Great. We should protect the land, air, food, and water. The protesters looked to be 100% white. People who were still connected to decent human values. But these same people were manipulated into other causes with shadier agendas with nice sounding cover-stories like feeding the hungry, protecting children, educating the masses, providing news and information, welcoming refugees, equal rights and wages, and on and on.
With all that altruism, how did we wind up in this swamp? Well, going back to DJ's article, the altruism wasn't to provide a decent standard of living for young and inexperienced workers. They got kids into the military, or college, and over their heads in debt when they finally had to face reality. Nice choices there. Either serve in illegal wars, or get buried in debt.
My kid is in parochial schools. Its no longer the upgrade it once was. Mostly driven by the sh*tty technology/devices all students are forced to use which cause them to be massively disengaged. The teachers despise it as well.

Your personal story reminds me of a friend who was laid off from a company he worked for for 27 years, ostensibly because, due to his seniority, he was making too much money and the company couldn't afford him, even though his professional excellence and dedication to the job had earned the company many lucrative contracts. He was never able to find a similar job and fell into a mental depression that later translated into precipitous physical decline as well. I do not need to mention his race and age.
The invisible hand of market forces described by Adam Smith is not so invisible these days: all markets are rigged, including the job market. The powers that shouldn't be decide who the winners are going to be. And white males have gone out of fashion... My white middle-aged husband who can accurately be described as a Renaissance man (he is mechanically inclined and can fix almost anything, devours philosphy as quickly as science fiction, has studied multiple languages, excelled in computer programming, draws as well as a graduate from an academy of fine arts) recently found a job at a donut shop. The man who can do everything flips donuts. This would be an absurdity in a 'neutral' job market where people find work based on skills and qualifications as opposed to thier skin color and willingness to comply with a phony smile on his face.

I can count myself blessed. Didn't have any experience before I got hired. Worked almost 2 years without health insurance too. Which is good to have if you need it. However, the money I spend on products that actually promote good health and healing costs far less than what I pay for health insurance, excluding deductibles and co-payments. Staying away from the rat poisons have done wonders for my health.

I have toyed with it. I have a friend in it as well. Have put out more than a couple applications for not so much devices but software and circuitry. I live in Florida and if there’s one industry insulated it’s medical.
What I am seeing is due to the sheer volume of applicants employers have gotten lazy. Instead of interviewing people they have their underlings in HR deal with it. Those people are very black/white thinkers and they are checking boxes more than anything else.
Here’s the thing, you don’t get very many interviews. It’s hard to gauge how you did and the company won’t tell you. That being said I may have figured out how best to handle these HR recruiter types.
I have a good friend who is high up at a networking company. He could get me a job but his department hasn’t opened up a new one directly under him in at least a year. It’s a bad combination of not enough jobs and too many interested parties.

Your age shouldn't be a problem for any employer if they are not contributing to your health insurance. One guy told me he preferred hiring older people because lots of the younger people were unreliable in reporting to work as expected. Have you considered a walmart greeter position? Most of the people I see doing those jobs appear to be well past 35 years old.

I would like to thing I’m pretty clever too. I am probably doing better than most. In fact I have 2 different ones to deal with this weekend. I have to make a 3min video for one and do a video interview for another. I don’t mind because they actually have requested it. I won’t do any more of them on the whim of an auto reply. I know one retired husband and wife who are both looking for part-time jobs. I and many others have decided to keep our full-time jobs (if we can), and draw that social security income after reaching full retirement age. I'm hoping the laws don't change before I reach that number. Currently there is no income limit penalty on how much income those full-time retirement aged people can earn yearly. From the looks of things along with the cost of living expenses. This seems to be the best route for me to take. Get some debts payed off first, necessary repairs, item replacements, etc before I think about sitting around waiting for a monthly check that's close to $1,500 less than my monthly net income.

I don't know how much influence I have, Frank. Even if I could convince all the actively employed among my readers, how many people would that be? Most of my articles average around 15,000 reads. Many of us tried a long time ago, to mass email everyone about not buying gas on a particular day. This involved zero risk to anyone, but would have represented a strong symbolic gesture of discontent. We couldn't even get people to do that. I wish I could be more hopeful, but it's really hard to get people to come together. Thanks.
So what if you and even 1 million others had refused to buy gas on a particular day? Anyone could predict that, given your own planning for the day, many of you would probably just buy your gas a day or two earlier or a day later than you would have without your boycott. Maybe you'd also combine two days' errands on a single day to save some gas.
Net adverse impact of your symbolic gesture upon the targets: Virtually zero. Net effect on yourself: Contempt, ridicule, and maybe 1 gallon of gas saved.
A better strategy would be subverison of faith in America if not for a complicating personnel problem. You can't exactly depend upon most "white" guys to stand up for something like this when they're busy with important activities like watching sports, playing video games, golfing, tinkering in their garage shops, reading Bibles, striving for riches, gawking at photos of new warbirds, drinking, smoking, shooting holes in paper targets, and singing along with the words "the land of the free and the home of the brave".

Can’t discount under “medications,” electromagnetic, and other such type influences, food quality, water quality. Humanity, as well as being culled, is being told to dance with their shoelaces tied during the culling. This job market, racial issue is likely, and disgustingly, part of it. I had the thought that as my own life is winding down, the strangest thing is happening. It seems the whole show might be, too. I never finished reading it, but there is a book entitled, “Things Fall Apart.” I do know that nothing lasts.
I get the impression many job posts are disingenuous. My brother works in recruiting, and says that job openings get 100s of applications from Indians within an hour. These people are not even citizens, and they commit fraud by claiming to be Americans.
I’m on a waitlist for a union trade job now. College degree, working vehicle, and over a decade of experience, albeit in another industry. I got a decent ranking and am still hopeful I’ll get a call next year, but it has been quite the wait.

Three years ago, my mother and I invested in troy ounce silver blanks - not more expensive actual USG American Eagle coins which are official currency. The blanks are worth whatever going rate of an oz of silver is. Anyhow bought in at $22 per troy ounce now listed around $58! We bought these in case the US economy falls into chaos - likely before TPTB wipe the fiat currency and debt clean and institute AI guided UBI via digital currency with totalitarian strings attached. Looks as though that silver we purchased may yet be put to use in an outlier barter economy.

I have told my kids that 1913 was the worst year in American history. This article really hit home. My dad was an airplane mechanic and was able to support us through high school, modestly of course, but homelessness or hunger were never looming. Student loans for college back then were not the bone crushing instruments they are now and it was actually possible to work and put yourself through with minimum debt.
It’s a trap (or maybe vise would be a closer description) and no one seems at all interested in trying to fix it. A friend’s daughter was one of 20 people interviewing for a job at Taco Bell— 20! The few jobs I had applied to since, that paid well enough to bend over and take it up the ass by the state, had hundreds of applicants according to HR.
It makes no sense to work for $60k or less in 90% of America, and in the places that that amount would afford a nice life, the pay is half of that.

I feel for you, Donald trying to get help for a government mistake. Nothing works in Oregon government anymore, so I have high anxiety and a feeling of futility when I am forced to interact with the government, something I try very hard to avoid. I KNOW there will be a mistake, and it will mean a days-long marathon on the phone, trying to.resolve the mistake, often having the call drop and being forced to start over. It sure feels like one hundred percent of those I speak with are women (it's almost always women) who can barely speak English. I don't know if all the mistakes are due to the forced-death-jabbed government worker's brains being destroyed by spike proteins...or that their poor grasp of English means they have no idea what's going on at work.
Because you are a family man, and were very responsible, you were able to start out as labor and work your way up to a desk job... something impossible these days...no matter how responsable one is. Many of us laborers bounced from job to job ...often being forced out by illegal labor. It happened to me once, and I filed EEOC and was treated so nasty by my caseworker (who obviously hated me immediately for being a White person filing against Hispanic management) that we actually got in yelling matches in the phone. EEOC treated me like dirt, but I kept threatening to file complaints against them, and it worked. I did win... got practically nothing, but that was all I wanted... vindication. I did file a complaint about my caseworker after the fact...which of course was dismissed...with a lecture that I should just be happy I prevailed. It was a terrible experience.
I really do feel empathy for young workers these days. This is the planned implosion of America 2.0.

I remember back in the eighties (my twenties) kids would get Pell grants to go to trade schools. I don't know if that's still a thing. The only people I knew who went to college were my sisters, it just wasn't a thing back then...at least in my circle. One kid from my highschool class became fabulously wealthy. He started a logging company with his brother. His enterprise now includes rock quarries, lumber, trucking, marine shipping, and he now owns a rail/water port.He sells a lot of lumber to Home Depot. Unfortunately, his brother died young in a logging accident. This would be impossible to accomplish these days...and I suspect that had the brothers not had contacts in the logging world back in 1978, they never could have gotten their business off the ground. Who you know, is much more important than what you know.

The labor unions were a blessing to some and a curse to others. The problem I always had with unions is they see management as the enemy who wants to exploit the worker for every last nickel, and cannot imagine an employer, such as Henry Ford, who would actually give a man an honest day's pay for an honest day's work.
Americans have always been overpaid, if you want my opinion, and this is what has given rise to all the baneful infrastructure and socialism that constricts those of us who would rather be homesteading and living off the land. I am constantly lectured about having to "pay my debt to society". What debt? Society has not given me anything, except maybe free public libraries.

My problem with unions is that they want non-union people to pay them their extra income and benefits FOR LIFE. My neighbors are mostly union, whether construction, teachers, or city, state and county union members. Not everyone can be in a freaking union. That would be communism. So, the unions demand their higher wages, pension and benefits FOR LIFE, while their neighbors have zero representation. It's "you pay" or suffer the consequences. The unions don't guarantee better quality. Our non-union parochial teachers provide twice the education at half the cost of the public school union establishment. They don't over-burden the tax system with ridiculous 100 million dollar schools. I'd rather die in poverty than support the unions.
You raise some very valid points. Yes, the Parochial School teachers provide a better education because they want to be there. They see it as their vocation to instruct the next generation so they can build families and their own vocations. And all the money in the world cannot buy a dedicated heart.
The basic falsehood of Socialism is that people are solely motivated by money and political power. Socialism provides no proviso for the Christian Heart, which wants to do the right thing out of love for Our Lord Jesus Christ and his neighbor. One of the reasons what is left of Christendom languishes in a quagmire is because so few hearts are generous. Rather the vast majority of people are absorbed in their own little worlds and desires. They know nothing of sacrifice, mortification, and the striving after what is really important- Eternal Life and the Will of God.
The Public School system in particular is an infernal beast. Years ago the school districts were hijacked by the Communists and their fellow travelers. And with the famous case of Madalyn Murray O'Hair, Atheism and Secular humanism became the religion of the Public Schools. This caused the people of integrity to flee to be replaced by greedy union creatures who successfully convinced a dumb public that throwing lots of money at the schools would improve standards of education. Nothing but a pack of lies.
All that being said, teachers' unions and unions of public employees in general are not a good comparison to the grassroots unions that were inspired by the "Molly Maguires" who rose especially in response to the horrendous policies of the Anthracite mines in Pennsylvania. (The Robber Barons were certainly a reality.) For the Blue Collar Factory Worker in the late 1800's the Unions were indeed a Godsend, and balanced corporate greed. (I often wonder if the Great Johnstown Flood of 1889 was not Divine Retribution on the Robber Barons. It certainly wiped out Carnegie, the Railroads, and sparked the Great Panic of 1893 as the banks only succeeded in hiding the losses for so long.)
I would agree, of course, that after WW2 the unions became bloated conglomerates dedicated to squeezing every last nickel out of what they saw were the deep pockets of various cartels. This contributed not a little- along with bloated gov't regulations and taxes- to the exodus oversees that began in earnest in the early '80's.
It's always the same old story- as old as the hills. People with very limited horizons are intent only on their local kingdom while the institutions designed to look far and wide become infected with corrupt bureaucrats.

Yes, you are correct to point out the reasons for the worker unions in respect to
the oligarchs. Minnesota, where I live, has become the poster child for these organizations, with the Tim Walz mentality controlling the state for a long while and we're just now seeing the fruits of this. The unions and powerful actors, like the Mayo Clinic, enforce mind-control over the masses similar to demonic possession. One example is the "push" to vaxxinate and fluoridate us. I put the word push in quotes, because a "push" can be an occult form of possession
removing and replacing the will of individuals. Same can be said for "movements". In a recent documentary on Minnesota in the 70s, they proudly showed large numbers of Minnesotans protesting the taconite pollution being dumped into Lake Superior. Great. We should protect the land, air, food, and water. The protesters looked to be 100% white. People who were still connected to decent human values. But these same people were manipulated into other causes with shadier agendas with nice sounding cover-stories like feeding the hungry, protecting children, educating the masses, providing news and information, welcoming refugees, equal rights and wages, and on and on.
With all that altruism, how did we wind up in this swamp? Well, going back to DJ's article, the altruism wasn't to provide a decent standard of living for young and inexperienced workers. My kid is in parochial schools. Its no longer the upgrade it once was. Mostly driven by the sh*tty technology/devices all students are forced to use which cause them to be massively disengaged. The teachers despise it as well.

Your personal story reminds me of a friend who was laid off from a company he worked for for 27 years, ostensibly because, due to his seniority, he was making too much money and the company couldn't afford him, even though his professional excellence and dedication to the job had earned the company many lucrative contracts. He was never able to find a similar job and fell into a mental depression that later translated into precipitous physical decline as well. I do not need to mention his race and age.
The invisible hand of market forces described by Adam Smith is not so invisible these days: all markets are rigged, including the job market. The powers that shouldn't be decide who the winners are going to be. And white males have gone out of fashion... My white middle-aged husband who can accurately be described as a Renaissance man (he is mechanically inclined and can fix almost anything, devours philosphy as quickly as science fiction, has studied multiple languages, excelled in computer programming, draws as well as a graduate from an academy of fine arts) recently found a job at a donut shop. The man who can do everything flips donuts. This would be an absurdity in a 'neutral' job market where people find work based on skills and qualifications as opposed to thier skin color and willingness to comply with a phony smile on his face.
I'm so sorry to hear that your husband is in that ever growing vastly under-employed category, Silvia. How can any Libertarian defend this, and claim that there is any meritocracy?
