Was a little kid during the Blizzard of ‘78; we were off school a week! No power outages that I remember but didn’t see any snowplows for about that time. Think that was before Doppler Radar & the storm snuck up on the “experts” who failed to call it. By the time the sun was up we had 3ft of snow outside. This was in the Mid-Atlantic area & everything shut down. Nobody could move/get anywhere.

I can remember the blizzard of '66 and the blizzard of '78 gave us just a swipe here in NOVA but that winter of '77-'78 saw 5 storms in a row and we missed some school in LB but never lost power. Then came the GW BDAY storm of '79. 18" inches of snow in 8 hours. Missed two weeks of school but never lost power. The real castle wall crumbling showed up in that '89 storm that was a lot like the one we just had, except it had more ICE. It was so bad in Springfield that people were skiing down our street. That was a cold wave that came in behind it and we had rolling blackouts because PGM needed to keep NYC in power. There was a cold snap in '93. Then Elvis Presley's BDay storm in '96 and we had two more storms after that. I was in North Springfield then, just outside the Beltway and the plows came down to the intersection with our street and stopped plowing. They said our end of the road was not a "600" route. We dug out a path with all the neighbors. There must have been 3 feet of snow from the three storms. We had over head power lines and never lost power. Living in the country, you have to be ready for power losses. It's a way of life out here. It's tiring sometimes but that's the trade off for staying out of everybody's way!

ps, I saw a townhouse get hit by lightning in the summer of 1973. It was a shocking event.
During the GW BDay storm of '79 we got 42 inches in 12 hours. The only reason it did not shatter daily snowfall totals was that it started at 6 PM and ended at 6 AM our time.
You must have been up the coast. It was so bad, the Atlantic Ocean froze at Ocean City, MD. Never happened since. Down where we were, it was 55 degrees at 10:35. NOAA said a front was coming through that night and we might see a thunderstorm but not much else except cold. Woke up the next day, and could not open the storm door. It looked like the glass portion was frosted over. It wasn't frost. It was a massive snow drift up the front of the house. 18" was the official at Washington National Airport but in the burbs, we had 24 easy. Crazy.
In retrospect I think that particular storm was an early geo-engineering experiment with results much different than what they anticipated. Never were the weather forecasters so wrong. And the result was that millions of motorists were stranded in major cities, especially in the Ohio Valley. Whatever the hell they had in that "snow", it turned the wet roads into a sheet of black ice and nobody was going anywhere- even with tire chains.

Actually, I think we have passed Peak Geo-Engineering. Except for the very strange ice line, which I definitely think was the Pentagram's doing, this was a classic I-40/I-81 Nor'Easter, the first of its type that I have seen in over 30 years. I saw these storms all the time in the '60's, '70's, and '80's. In '78 and '79 especially, La Nino gave us the perfect setup, and storm after storm ran up the east coast, burying DC, NY, Philly, and Boston. I got real good at predicting them when I was in Grade School, and was right more times than the Television Weatherman. When the first flakes started coming down 20 minutes later, the whole class cheered. So, yes, I know Nor"Easters.
This was the first Nor'Easter where 20 states declared states of emergency BEFORE the first flakes fell. Back in the '80's, scattered counties would declare states of emergency after being buried by three or four successive storms. (Never in the Appalachians. In Altoona, Johnstown, Lewistown, and etc, having four or five feet of snow on the ground is not uncommon. When I was outside of Ebensburg for two weeks for my grandpas funeral, you could count on shoveling eight inches of snow off the patio every morning.
So Hats off to the Pentagram for the 2 inches of sleet on top of 10 inches of snow. With the winds we had yesterday, drifting would have been an ongoing nightmare. But the crust has allowed things to pretty much get back to normal.

Was a little kid during the Blizzard of ‘78; we were off school a week! No power outages that I remember but didn’t see any snowplows for about that time. Think that was before Doppler Radar & the storm snuck up on the “experts” who failed to call it. By the time the sun was up we had 3ft of snow outside. This was in the Mid-Atlantic area & everything shut down. Nobody could move/get anywhere.
“Experts” anymore are just people with credentials; they get a piece of paper for (often) 6 figures so they can hang it on a wall. Doesn’t mean they know anything or have a practical knowledge. I tuned them out long ago pretty much & definitely after the whole covid scam.

I can remember the blizzard of '66 and the blizzard of '78 gave us just a swipe here in NOVA but that winter of '77-'78 saw 5 storms in a row and we missed some school in LB but never lost power. Then came the GW BDAY storm of '79. 18" inches of snow in 8 hours. Missed two weeks of school but never lost power. The real castle wall crumbling showed up in that '89 storm that was a lot like the one we just had, except it had more ICE. It was so bad in Springfield that people were skiing down our street. That was a cold wave that came in behind it and we had rolling blackouts because PGM needed to keep NYC in power. There was a cold snap in '93. Then Elvis Presley's BDay storm in '96 and we had two more storms after that. I was in North Springfield then, just outside the Beltway and the plows came down to the intersection with our street and stopped plowing. They said our end of the road was not a "600" route. We dug out a path with all the neighbors. There must have been 3 feet of snow from the three storms. We had over head power lines and never lost power. Living in the country, you have to be ready for power losses. It's a way of life out here. It's tiring sometimes but that's the trade off for staying out of everybody's way!

During the GW BDay storm of '79 we got 42 inches in 12 hours. The only reason it did not shatter daily snowfall totals was that it started at 6 PM and ended at 6 AM our time.
You must have been up the coast. It was so bad, the Atlantic Ocean froze at Ocean City, MD. Never happened since. Down where we were, it was 55 degrees at 10:35. NOAA said a front was coming through that night and we might see a thunderstorm but not much else except cold. Woke up the next day, and could not open the storm door. It looked like the glass portion was frosted over. It wasn't frost. It was a massive snow drift up the front of the house. 18" was the official at Washington National Airport but in the burbs, we had 24 easy. Crazy.
In retrospect I think that particular storm was an early geo-engineering experiment with results much different than what they anticipated. Never were the weather forecasters so wrong. And the result was that millions of motorists were stranded in major cities, especially in the Ohio Valley. Whatever the hell they had in that "snow", it turned the wet roads into a sheet of black ice and nobody was going anywhere- even with tire chains.
and I believe you're correct. The weather modification treaty was just signed in '77 if I remember correctly. Of course, nobody really studied it or understood it in public until 40 years later. The government(s) do all kinds of things in "behind closed doors" arenas. Governors travel to foreign nations to "promote" the products from their states, even though trade treaties and agreements are supposed to be done only by the US Congress.
That winter of '77-'78 was wild and the GW storm was a monster. The term "bombogenisis" came from the DC NOAA offices in the late 80's and they fed it through the local TV weather forecasters. The biggest pusher of that made up term was Doug Hill, from WUSA and his boy wonder Topper Shut, who is still there today, uses that term. Bob Ryan from the WRC, NBC affiliate, was an actual meteorologist and never used that term or name.
Don, pointed out the derecheo made up name for what they used to call a "Squall Line" and again, it came out of the DC NOAA office. It was supposedly an inclusive term from the Spanish language meaning strong wind. It was just more DEI.
That by the way, is how Sociology was mixed into English classes from Grade School through Colleges and into the work place. They started that program out in the open in 1985 from what I've been able to uncover.

I saw a juniper tree get hit by lightning right in front of me. thirty miles east of Ely, NV turning onto the main highway. A lightning bolt also hit the transformer box here in rural west and power was out for two days or so. Dry lightning causes wild fires around here, either than or morons who are out shooting or ATV riding.

I was chatting with one of my customers. She mentioned to me that
she had been struck by lightning and nearly killed. Since then, she can't wear a watch because the battery always goes dead. She was such a pretty gal I wanted to hold her hand to see if I could feel the electricity! I would have fallen in love for sure, so I ignored the urge. But, there is definitely something to it
and maybe even psychic abilities. It might not just be the electric shock, but
such close encounters with death may also be part of it.
Not a surprise to me at all. I was asked to join in on a loosely connected group of Scientists and people who work with alternative medicine practices. I was there to show how different people carry differing amounts of electrical charge and that our bodies have varying amounts of capacitance.
One of the members is a young gal who was hit directly by lighting at an event here in DC and she was not expected to live. Today, she can communicate with animals by way of touch and speech. I witnessed it myself. It is wild and wonderful world God has made for us.
Next time, instead of a hug, ask to take her out for lunch! As my grandfather used to say, "It only happens to the living." My codicil to that is, "You're a long time in your grave."

Being well over the age of 60, I grew up in very rural central New York. In the 60s and 70s Winters always had snow at least 12 inches from late December to March. If the power went out it was rare and seldom more than a few hours. During the mid 90s That ' Perfect Storm' knocked out power across Quebec Ontario, NY, VT and others for weeks in the winter. As a National guard. Soldier I spent 2 weeks cutting trees from power lines and access roads. HAARP has several sites in the lower 48. It has the ability to cause heating of the atmosphere. This combined with the Chemical trail seeding has the potential to drastically alter weather patterns. I still have my copies of "The Mother Earth News" from the late 70's and early 80's. It was pretty hippie-tinged and radical back then. They always had stories about how to get off the grid and make your own heat (and pretty much everything else!).

… We started radio stations, food co-ops. I coordinated the 2500 Member Columbia Community Grocery then, and started the collective Catalpa Tree Cafe vegetarian restaurant. We built community, no phony NGO for handouts. It makes me mad to see community being intentionally demolished. There are actually similar, heart warming international communities happening in villages in Portugal.

Great people. It was especially good for my wife to work with them. They
were good friends, unlike people these days. She really can't connect with people anymore the way they are now, so superficial and cliquey. It is a serious problem not having a real community. I remember the farmers here mocking us and the word "organic" as if we were totally brain-washed or insane. Many of those farmers already died from cancer.

Although, overall I agree with everything you wrote, I believe a lot of the power outages can now be attributed to the massive overdevelopment and therefore a far greater drain on the power grid opposed to years gone by.
Same holds true with trees going down also opposed to years gone past. The massive overdevelopment has taken away so much that use to support all of this. The very foundation.
I remember years ago there was a massive mud slide in Buck County PA. The entire side of the mountain on Route 611 had given way and completely covered cars and the roadway in mud. A once in a lifetime possibility.
I later learned it was because they had built a golf course on the land above the side of the mountain.
So much of this is simply being caused by the massive overdevelopment. Same holds true for the animal attacks. Coyotes but especially bears.

I grew up in Fort Lee NJ and remember during Sandy the whole town got electricity back in days while one area was out for almost three weeks. It turns out they had put that specific section of our town, on another town.
PS: we too got hit here in NJ with the same storm - a beautiful fluffy powdery snow which was then coated by freezing rain. I noticed on Saturday morning there were chem trails all over the sky as I traveled east on route 80 - Bergen Cnty NJ.
What is amazing is the reaction of people, clearing out grocery store shelves early last week for days on end and shutting everything down for a little snow and sleet on the roads. The closest school down the road has been closed for two days over the weekend storm in Central Texas. The roads have been clear, it has just been unnaturally cold for days on end. People have been conditioned to be so reactionary. They are training people to be weak, helpless and inept. It amazes me when I hear older people buying into all the hysteria. As if they never experienced a winter event before. And who doesn’t have some provisions to make it through a few days after Covid? These people act like they have no food in their homes and will never be able to get to the store again. Bizarre.

Bravo, so well researched and written. Hurricane Helene provided a breathtaking recent example of how weather warfare goes unchallenged. Hurricane Helene formed from the warm Gulf of Mexico waters. As it moved inland loss of moisture should weaken the cycle. Next, friction from the land should continue lessen the cycle. Then, since the land is cooler, it should reduce the overall energy needed to sustain the hurricane.
With all of this going against it, Hurricane Helene still managed to drop millions of gallons of water hundreds of miles inland. I sent this info as a letter to the editor of a small local newspaper in TN. It ended up in the dustbin of history, never published.

Actually, I think we have passed Peak Geo-Engineering. Except for the very strange ice line, which I definitely think was the Pentagram's doing, this was a classic I-40/I-81 Nor'Easter, the first of its type that I have seen in over 30 years. I saw these storms all the time in the '60's, '70's, and '80's. In '78 and '79 especially, La Nino gave us the perfect setup, and storm after storm ran up the east coast, burying DC, NY, Philly, and Boston. I got real good at predicting them when I was in Grade School, and was right more times than the Television Weatherman. I do recall as a Freshman getting quite the reputation when I told my classmates in December not to get exited, the storm was going to be a washout- too much warm air from the Atlantic would turn it to rain. I was right four times in a row. That first week of December, my geography teacher asked my opinion for the class. I said the snow would start during during class, and we would get enough to cancel school for the rest of the week. When the first flakes started coming down 20 minutes later, the whole class cheered. So, yes, I know Nor"Easters.
This was the first Nor'Easter where 20 states declared states of emergency BEFORE the first flakes fell. Back in the '80's, scattered counties would declare states of emergency after being buried by three or four successive storms. (Never in the Appalachians. In Altoona, Johnstown, Lewistown, and etc, having four or five feet of snow on the ground is not uncommon. When I was outside of Ebensburg for two weeks for my grandpas funeral, you could count on shoveling eight inches of snow off the patio every morning.
So Hats off to the Pentagram for the 2 inches of sleet on top of 10 inches of snow. With the winds we had yesterday, drifting would have been an ongoing nightmare. But the crust has allowed things to pretty much get back to normal.
Peak Geo-engineering occurred in 2017. That was the year the leaves were still on the trees until December, and we got really strange damp cold snaps that would last just a day. The skies were so full of chemtrails it looked like a scene out of science fiction, and the snow was very strange, sublimating rather than melting. Now, I think the frosts of God are making a comeback. The climate is like a rubber band. It will stretch quite a bit, but it is not going to snap. The earth is not going to melt down under a runaway greenhouse. We are not all going to die (at least not of heat exhaustion.
On another topic, for those of you still driving, beware of Carmageddon. The Flock Cameras, apparently, are going to start acting like an army of Robocops, enforcing speed limits, cell phone driving laws, and a host of other statutes.
