The U S's has been devolving in the same manner since the early 60's, longer actually. Save for a handful of hard core STEM subjects most degrees are little more than a culmination of kindergarten projects that required enough time and attendance to fill the "requirement". The Progressive movement degraded the concept of developing the brain into a rational, critically thinking mind since Dewey in the 1930's. We now have three generations of generally undeveloped minds who could not re-instate a true classical education curriculum if the society depended on that for its survival. We cannot fix the situation now but will simply languish as we become the Eloi of H G Wells' imagination.
You're right, Marty. It didn't happen overnight. But things were proceeding for decades along the lines of gradualism- the boiling frog analogy. Once "COVID" hit, things seemed to accelerate into warp speed- not just the vaccine. The frog has been burned beyond recognition. For those who were alive in the 1930s and 1940s, I'm sure the changes are even more noticeable. I have to sadly agree that we can't fix the situation. Thanks.
