I also went through a journey of being a young Republican - yet 30 years in Europe have turned me into a liberal thru and thru. I can no longer say I would vote for the Dems, however, given their Covid policy. So I, too, am perhaps a “classic Liberal”, like you, Greenwald, Taibbi, Matte, Dore, etc.
One thing I DO think the disenfranchised should consider - and I’m serious and hope this isn’t taken as “out of touch” by your reader - is put a little bit (whatever they can afford - even if it’s $10 / month) into crypto.
The dollar (and Euro, and Yen, etc) are being debased at unprecedented levels … yet crypto provides a hedge to this.
I’m not selling anything with this advice. For those interested, I suggest Google Raoul Pal and watch what he says about “humanity’s greatest wealth creation and equaliser” in history.

The more I live the more I realize how many taxes have been and continue to be imposed on the masses, forcing our generationally lower standard of living in countless ways: fuel, war, inflation, medical tyranny and perhaps most importantly the "tax" of psychological operations committed by the state on the populace.
Think of our abundant wealth if advances in tech and medicine were permitted to exist. Even if we were allowed to read about our hidden history, however painful it may be. We would know SO much more.
How I look forward to the day when our swords will be turned to plowshares and spears into pruning hooks. I dream of a global reset, yes, but one which would be entirely different from that which is currently being imposed by these despicable tyrants.
