I've not been able to say that much. It sounds utterly ridiculous to my ears. I've settled on "Have a better new year" Everyone I say it too does this sort of sad eye roll though, like they realise how feeble the traditional greeting would sound. Yet strangely the traditional wording doesn't elicit more than a standard response. I think there's a placebo effect there. May your year be better Cindy. You're one of the earliest voices of sanity and humanity I noticed coming out of the USA since 9/11 and my heart was always hurting for you too. Thanks for your courage sister. You belong among the elect.

I barely hesitate to say you have some perspicacious readers. Of various stripes. If you don't already know him, I suggest you check in with my brother Linh Dinh.
